School of Intelligent Science and Information Engineering (Huawei ICT school) is the construction focus of Xi’an Peihua University, consisting of department of basic computer research, department of electronics, department of computer science, experimental teaching center, general management office and student service station. There are five undergraduate majors including Electronic Information Engineering, Communication Engineering,Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Data Science and Big Data Technology, and Computer Application Technology, a major of junior college. The School is open to students across the country, and aims to cultivate application-oriented technology professionals.

Insisting on taking market demand as the orientation and the cultivation of students’ practical ability and employ ability as the core, the School actively explores and implements the training mode featured with the integration of industry, university and research. The School has been working with famous domestic enterprises to jointly create a mechanism and platform for school-enterprise cooperation and collaborative education, to make joint efforts to build up majors, teaching teams and teaching conditions, and to implement vocational education, making the talent training be featured with complementary advantages, cooperative schooling, collaborative education, customized training and employment without adaptation period, delivering much-needed application-oriented technical talents for communication, electronics and computer information technology fields.

The School has a professional faculty with reasonable structure, academic expertise and strong teaching and researching power. There are 50 full-time teachers, including 1 doctoral supervisor, 7 master’s supervisors (master’s supervisors of electronic information in Northwest University), 2 members of lecturer group of application-oriented curriculum construction alliance of School Planning and Construction Development Center of Ministry of Education, 1 university-level teaching master, 3 university-level teaching stars, and 8 teachers in the university-level talent pool. Among the full-time teachers, 94% of them have a doctoral or master’s degree, 68% have senior titles, and 60% are double qualified teachers.

The School has good experiment, practical training and other practical teaching conditions to provide support for the cultivation of application-oriented talents. The experimental teaching center covers an area of more than 1900 square meters, and the total value of software and hardware equipment is more than 17 million RMB. The School has one provincial experimental teaching demonstration center, one provincial experimental zone of the talent training mode innovation, and one provincial demonstration workstation of the joint training of graduate students. It has 17 professional laboratories with complete functions and advanced equipment for experiments of big data and artificial intelligence, modern electronic technology application development, intelligent information processing, mobile communication and computer network technology. Through in-depth cooperation with well-known enterprises such as Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., Aerial Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Co. Ltd., and Western Cloud Valley, a number of large off-campus practical training bases with school-enterprise collaboration and industry- learning-research integration have been established to meet the needs of off-campus internship.

The School takes secondary-class activities and professional competitions as important supplements to the professional education so as to cultivate students’ independent design and development capability. Relying on Xi’an Peihua University Maker Center (the third batch of Shaanxi Provincial Incubation Base of Crowd-making Space), the School has carried out a variety of secondary-class activities and thematic salons. Through participating in the National Student Mathematical Modeling Competition, National Student Electronic Design Competition, Chinese University Students Computer Design Competition, Blue Bridge Cup National Software and Information Technology Professionals Competition, Chinese University Students “Internet+”Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition and the Certification of Huawei 1+X Certificate, students’ capability of developing core competence has been strengthened and the annual number of national and provincial awards reaches about 100.

After nearly two decades of undergraduate schooling practice, the School has laid a solid foundation in discipline and major construction, faculty construction, application-oriented curriculum construction and teaching conditions construction, forming a good schooling environment and strong talent cultivation strength. There are main achievements that have been made.

In 2011, the School was approved as a pilot school for cultivating innovative talents in electronic information specialty.

In 2013, the experimental teaching center of the School was awarded as the provincial experimental teaching demonstration center.

In 2013, the communication engineering major was approved as provincial comprehensive reform pilot major.

In 2013, the School signed a strategic cooperation agreement with ZTE corporation to establish Xi’an PEIHUA University ZTE Telecom school to jointly establish key demonstration major of communication specialties in the central and western region.

In 2014, the two courses - Digital Electronics and Microcomputer Principles and Interface Technology - were awarded as “provincial elaborate resource sharing course”, and the courses Computer Networks and Communications and  Single-Chip Microcomputer Development and Application were awarded as “provincial first-class course” in 2019 and 2021, respectively；

In 2015, the teaching team of Communication Engineering was approved as a provincial teaching team.

In 2016, the School was awarded as the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform experimental school of Shaanxi province.

In 2016, the maker center of Xi’an Peihua University was approved as the Third Batch of Incubation Base of Shaanxi Crowd Making Space.

In 2016, an agreement was signed with the School of Information Science and Technology of Northwest University for the joint training of graduate students, and seven teachers were employed by Northwest University as external tutors for postgraduate students in Electronic Information; in 2017, the workstation was approved as a provincial demonstration workstation for the joint training of graduate students;

The major of communication engineering and the major of computer science and technology were approved as “provincial construction project of first-class majors” in 2017 and 2021 respectively.

In 2017, Xi’an Peihua University signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Aerial Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Co. Ltd., working together to cultivate talents on processing aeronautica data;

In 2017, the School established Xu Lida Academician Studio which was the first overseas academician studio established by Shaanxi private universities;

In 2018, two faculty members of the School were employed as members of the lecturer group for application-oriented curriculum construction by the School Planning and Construction Development Center of the Ministry of Education and the Alliance for Application-oriented Curriculum Construction;

In 2019, a strategic cooperation agreement was signed with Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. to build Huawei ICT School.

In 2021, Huawei ICT School was formally inaugurated.
