Xi’an Peihua University started its medical education in 1980s. The School of Medicine was officially founded in 2004, guided by the school motto of "great doctor's skills and sincerity ends in perfection". The school fosters virtues, is student centered, aims to cultivate a local, applied, international and high-level medical and health talent training demonstration base, and vigorously implements the development strategy of establishing the school with quality, strengthening the school with talents, rejuvenating the school with characteristics and standardizing the administration of the school.

Accumulating over 30 years, the school now has a high-level professional teaching team, with eight undergraduate and junior college majors in nursing, pharmacy, medical laboratory technology, clinical medicine, nursing, stomatology technology, medical information engineering, health service and management, and more than 4200 students.

The school has a well-structured and strong team of professional teachers with exquisite academic skills. Academician Fan Daiming, vice president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, served as the chancellor of the University. Academician Zhang Shengyong and academician Chen Zhinan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering served as honorary professors at the University. Among the full-time teachers, 66% were teachers with doctor's and master's degrees, 52% were teachers with senior titles and 75% were double qualified teachers. There is 1 teaching master in Shaanxi Province, 2 Outstanding Youths in Shaanxi Province. In school lever, there are 2 teaching masters, 3 teaching stars, and 13 echelon talents.

The school was rated as the provincial “Benchmarking School and Department of Party Building” and “National Model Party Branch”. Both nursing and pharmacy are “Provincial First-Class Undergraduate Majors” and have been recommended to participate in the evaluation of National First-Class Undergraduate Majors by Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education.

The nursing major was rated in CUAA as a six-star first-class major and a top domestic private university major. In 2019, it was approved as one of the first batch of pilot schools and evaluation and examination centers of 1 + X Vocational Skill Training for Elderly Care for by the Ministry of Education. In recent three years, the school’s employment rate has reached more than 93.59%.

Pharmacy is a four-star domestic private university major rated by its alumni in 2017, a construction unit conferring master’s degrees at the university level, with over 97% employment rate.

Established in 2004, the Medical Experiment Center was approved as a Provincial Medical Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center in 2016 and a Provincial Medical Virtual Simulation Experiment Teaching Center in 2019. It is the "First Emergency Training Center in The West" of the American Heart Association (AHA), and the Western Forensic Identification Center. It covers an area of more than 20000 square meters, has more than 30000 instruments and equipment worth more than 50 million yuan.

The cooperation between school and enterprise has been attached great importance to. The school now has more than 60 off-campus practising and teaching bases by deep cooperation with Xijing Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Military Medical University, Tangdu Hospital Affiliated to Air Force Military Medical University, Shenzhen University General Hospital, the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, Cancer Hospital of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Zhejiang Cancer Hospital), the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University (Xibei Hospital), and Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital.

It has 6 comprehensive affiliated hospitals providing business environment for the cultivation of applied talents, including Shaanxi Second Provincial People's Hospital, Shaanxi Fourth Provincial People's Hospital, Shaanxi Fifth Provincial People's Hospital, Xi'an Fifth Hospital, Tangcheng Hospital of Xi'an, and Jintai Hospital of Baoji City.

It has developed a series of international exchange and cooperation projects with Japan, Germany, France, the United States and Malaysia, and has cultivated more than 10000 excellent medical talents for the society through over 30 years’ accumulation.
